The Seasons in Rhode Island

Thinking about moving to Rhode Island? The Ocean State experiences all four seasons in their fullest glory each year, making it an ideal place to put down some roots.

Rhody is known for its beautiful autumn foliage, which draws visitors from all over to see the leaves change color – it’s not too chilly, either, with temperatures ranging from the mid 40s to low 60s.

Winter can be cold and snowy, with temperatures averaging in the low 20s. Nor’Easters happen on average once or twice a season, so be sure to get a snowblower to go with those thermals…

Spring is a beautiful time of year in Rhode Island, with average temperatures in the 60s. It’s also the time of year when Rhode Islanders (us at RISE included) start to think it’s summer and wear seasonally unsuitable clothing.

Summer is when Rhody really shines, with long, hot days, little rainfall, and enough of an ocean breeze to make it comfortable. Which makes summer the perfect time to enjoy all that Rhode Island has to offer, from its miles of sandy beaches to myriad outdoor activities.

The takeaway?
There is always something to do in Rhode Island. So, no matter what time of year it is, Rhode Island is a great place to live, work, and visit.
